About Us: Established in 2020, Mimshach Aquaculture Farm Pvt Ltd is a forward-thinking company dedicated to developing and promoting sustainable aquaculture practices for sea cucumbers in the beautiful coastal regions of Sri Lanka. Registered under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007, our headquarters is located in the vibrant city of Colombo.
Our journey began with a passionate team of qualified and experienced individuals who immersed themselves in the intricacies of sea cucumber farming in Mannar. For over three years, we worked hand in hand with 23-acre sea cucumber farmers, learning the industry from scratch and identifying talented individuals who could contribute to our future success. now we leading to establishing a 200-acre sea cucumber farm in Mannar.
We collaborated with Australian sea cucumber farmers to enhance our expertise, gaining invaluable knowledge and skills in farming techniques and best practices. We closely studied pilot project reports, including the Gurunager Jaffna 2011 initiative, to understand the successes and challenges of previous sea cucumber farming endeavors in Sri Lanka.
South Asia Largest sea cucumber farm
Mimshach Aquaculture Farm is set to become the largest sea cucumber farm in South Asia and the third largest in the world. With the capacity to house one million Sandfish sea cucumbers, our farm’s spans 223 acres. We are dedicated to an annual production of 25-30 MT, contributing significantly to Sri Lanka’s economy. Our efforts align with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision of economic revitalization, aiming to boost foreign income while preserving the natural habitat.
International Reach: Mimshach Aquaculture Farm Pvt Ltd has proudly ventured into the international market, mainly targeting China and Hong Kong, the world’s leading consumers of sea cucumbers. We’ve forged strong relationships with reliable buyers and agents facilitating export, ensuring fair products from the Mannar area. Our infrastructure includes a sea cucumber hatchery with a capacity of 2 million juveniles, a research center, and a state-of-the-art sea cucumber export processing facility.
Prime Location: We’ve meticulously identified and secured a prime location for our sea cucumber farming project in the Mannar area. This site boasts favorable environmental conditions for sea cucumber farming, including clean water, sandy bottoms, moderate currents, and adequate depth. Our commitment to sustainability is underpinned by a comprehensive feasibility study and an environmental impact assessment, which yielded positive results and demonstrated minimal adverse environmental impacts.
Expanding Horizons: With our initial success, Mimshach Aquaculture Farm Pvt Ltd has embarked on an exciting journey, transitioning to Etrat, South Asia’s largest sea cucumber farm, spanning an impressive 200 acres. In alignment with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision for national rebuilding, our project is set to play a pivotal role in earning significant foreign income for Sri Lanka.
